EDC Tuesday - Eat D C
Today's EDC is more of an Eat D C. The perfect set of tools for any gourmand. Whether you cook, or just eat. Forage for nuts in the forest, or dumpster dive "freegan" style. Here's a collection of the perfect stuff when you gotta cram your kisser.
First up is the Olicamp Sierra Cup - it's perfect for sipping crystal-clear alpine water straight from the stream, or making a hobo-style hambone soup at the railyard. The conical design is great for sipping from, or dipping a spoon into. The hooked handle keeps your digits from getting burned if you're cooking with it. And it looks pretty fresh hanging from your belt.
To the right is the Mora Classic no 2 - this handsome fixed blade is equally at home around the campfire as it is around the picnic table right next to the campfire. The Swedish ground-blade comes super sharp out of the box and holds an edge like a guy on a first dinner date holds a fart. And the fixed design means no locking mechanism to get jammed up with cheddar. Again.
Back to the left is a Hand Warmer - these bad boys aren't just for warming up your mitts. Toss one in your pocket with a leftover hard-boiled egg, and you got yourself a hot meal!
Beside that is a Compressed Towel - you get about 100 of these little guys to a pack. And they are just perfect for a post-libation titivation. Just dip it in some warm water, and suddenly the dank bathroom on the commuter rail has become first class flying.
In the bottom left, you'll find a couple Datrex Food Bars - this delightful amuse-bouche is just what you need to get you to the next meal. Normally, they are used to stock emergency kits, but these delicious, 200 kcal biscuits are the perfect snack to keep on your person for when your blood sugar drops. And they finish with a lovely coconut flavor.
Next is the True Utility CashStash - designed as a way to keep emergency cash on your keychain, this capsule is works well holding your favorite seasoning. The water-proof rubber gasket is the perfect solution for keeping your salt from becoming one.
Penultimately we have the CRKT Eat'N Tool - a multifunction keychain tool for your own most primal function. It features a spork and a bottle opener. What more do you need? And this one is coated in Teflon, so all you need to do is give it a wipe before returning it to your tuxedo pocket.
Finally there's the Stanley Flask - perfect for your potent potable, this portable phial holds 8oz of your most liked libation. The stainless steel construction, and Stanley's dedication to quality products means it won't get smashed. Even if you do.
